Tuxedo Trends of 2014
Over the past several years, the formal wear industry has seen certain trends explode in the wedding market! Tuxedos and suits made of super luxurious wool, modern to slim fit styled jackets and pants, grey tuxedos and suits, and even bow ties are coming back into demand. This year, tuxedo trends are even seeing blue tuxedos are hitting the market and the demand for these styles is growing. Let’s take a look at how these different tuxedo trends have impacted the wedding industry.
Finer Fabrics to Choose From
Polyester and tropical weight wool have been the industry standard for rental garments for decades. This material was preferred because of its durability and ability to withstand many rental uses. The lighter weight more luxurious materials were offered in the retail versions of many top designers and the price was considerably higher than the rental version. Manufactures have started making the rental garments out of the luxurious super 100’s wool to offer a premium option to the more upscale customer. This gives the groom an opportunity to wear a more comfortable, luxurious feeling outfit at a fraction of the cost of buying it! Now you really can look and feel like the stars on Oscar night!
In addition to the luxurious material that the styles are being made out of, the cut of the jacket and pants has become more fashionable. Where the traditional box look of the tuxedo is still available, today’s more modern fitted look is now available in rental outfits.

2013 tuxedo trends saw an increase in the popularity of colors other than black in wedding attire. Grey tuxedo and suits were in huge demand. With the demand, the selection grew as well. You can now rent both tuxedos and suits in grey that are not just classic fit but also in the more modern and slim fit versions. Choices between light, medium and charcoal are being used for all events now and the styling is impressive. Not only has grey become popular but now shades of blue are also trending in the wedding industry. James Bond’s use of a midnight blue tuxedo started the craze and now several different shades of blue suits and tuxedos are available to rent! 2014 Hottest Colors
One thing that is always trending in wedding fashions is color. Coordinating the colors of the bridesmaid dresses and the groomsmen’s attire is so crucial to creating the overall flow of the wedding. Spring always brings the pastel colors into popularity. Weddings occurring in March, April, May and June tuxedo trends lean toward the lighter more soft colors. Mint, coral, blush, lavender and yellow are all the rage right now. Fullback vests and ties are a wonderful way to bring the color to life in the men’s attire.
