It’s Friday, and we’d like to welcome Stacey B. of ASU Kerr Cultural Center back to our blog! We’re so excited to have her wrap up her piece on wedding planners. Today, she discusses the potential savings a wedding planner can provide, including saving time and money. 

Stacey B. is the Marketing, Program and Special Events Coordinator at ASU Kerr Cultural Center, a division of ASU Gammage. She enjoys translating her A&R intuition, concert promotion experience and show/festival planning, execution and management skills into useful tools for people and their public or private events.  She enjoys making complicated things feel easier for people interested in that kind of thing. Wedding Planners are Your Friend: Saving you Time & Money

Saving Time and Money

The expense of a good wedding planner can often save you money through vendor relationships. Many couples can shave a few bucks off their photography, DJ and catering services to create the budget for this person’s services. Professional hair, makeup and great attire are certainly beautiful, but nothing feels more like true luxury than a wedding planner/day-of coordinator that is focused on keeping a new set of spouses relaxed and smiling. Your planner has your back through the event and is the point person on all issues.

Communicate your wishes and needs to this angel in advance and trust their experience and organization. I cannot stress the palpable difference between a wedding and reception orchestrated by, say, a former stage manager turned wedding planner (she was fantastic) and the budget-conscious client that spent vast amounts on a dress, photography and DJ only to have to deal with complicated vendor issues at midnight after her wedding ceremony and a few drinks.

Set a Goal and Enjoy

The goal is that you will focus on you, your spouse and your guests as you enjoy yourself on event day. How often do you get to gather this group of people? Think of the wedding planner as your tandem skydiving coach on your amazing first jump. Enjoy the exhilarating journey while an experienced, trustworthy professional mans the altimeter and parachute.
