Dreamcicle Tips for Brides: MOH Survival Kit for the Bride!

The BIG DAY arrives, and you, dear MOH, are going to be the one your bride leans on for everything from Kleenex to champagne. Preparation is the key to being the MOH that rocks this party Find a pretty bag, fill it up, and then stash it by your seat before the reception, so it’s always close at hand!

Here are a few fun, and useful things, to put together in a little kit for your bride.

First Aid Items: You want to be able to take care of whatever cut, scrape, blister or headache that appears today. Having these items handy will help keep everyone feeling their best! (Image from: www.myweddingfavors.com)

  • Ibuprofen
  • Band-Aids
  • Gauze & Tape
  • Neosporin
  • Eye Drops

Repairs: These little gems are a definite necessity! They will take care of repairs to undergarments, slips, gowns, etc. They can pin bows to dresses, headpieces, and bouquets. Chalk is handy for covering up any smudges or stains that might find their way to the gown. I would also suggest a spool of white and a spool of thread to match the bridesmaid’s gowns. • Safety pins
  • Needle & Thread
  • Chalk
  • Super Glue

Beauty: Yes, I know, your bride and all her ladies JUST went to the salon, and everyone looks gorgeous! Hair and makeup to die for! However, there is a chance that someone’s “do” may end up becoming a “don’t” when stray hairs fly away. Be prepared with bobby pins and hairspray, and that potential disaster is quickly averted! • Bobby Pins
  • Hair Clips
  • Ponytail Holder
  • Hairspray
  • Clear Nail Polish
  • Nail File
  • Dental Floss
  • Baby Powder
  • Tweezers
  • Comb/Brush

Sustenance: Chocolate, dear MOH, is probably the single most important item in your bag. Many a bride has become instantly calmed when offered a bit of chocolate. Don’t cheap out, get the good stuff … if she likes dark chocolate, get that. If she’s a fan of milk or white chocolate, bring those. There’s also the variety pack as well – suitable for any emergency. Keep water handy as well as a few granola bars or some other easy snack. When her energy ebbs, it will be just the pick me up she needs! (Image from: www.lakechamplainchocolates.com)

  • Chocolate
  • Water
  • Easy Snacks

General Needs: All those little miscellaneous items that someone in the wedding party will either forget or discover they need. You can get those neat spot remover pens that will drop nicely into your bag. Check the travel accessory section of your local store for small sizes on things like sunscreen, toothpaste, deoderant, etc. (Image from: www.weddingflowersandmore.com)

  • Sunscreen
  • Corsage Pins
  • Pantyhose
  • Wet Wipes

Bride’s Necessities: These are those little things you should keep with you in a small bag the entire day. If your bride won’t have a chance to go back to her room to touch up, she’ll want to be able to pay a quick trip to the ladie’s lounge to sweep on a bit more mascara or take care of any repairs to her foundation. A pair of basic slippers – isotoner style, not bunny slippers, will be handy to swap out for those shoes that are killing her feet halfway through the reception. Keep some cash …. Just in case – you never know when it might be needed! (Image from: www.luxuryhaven.com)

  • Makeup
  • Cell Phone
  • Cash
  • Breath Freshener
  • Mirror
  • Feminine Products
  • Perfume
  • Slippers (comfy isotoner style)

Remember, you never know when you’ll need to pull out your bag of MOH tricks and save the day!

Until next time,

Have a Dreamcicle Day!

Kristi xoxo
