It’s a glorious Monday my Dreamcicle Brides! So many things to do and so little time to accomplish it all. This week, for our Monday Motivation, I wanted to talk about WEDDING SHOES! What woman doesn’t love shoes (I have an entire wall of them myself!)? And her wedding shoes should be extra special! Today, we’ll explore the latest trends in shoes for that special day.

Monday Motivation for Brides: Let Your Shoes Tell Your Story

In times past, the typical wedding shoe was a classic pump with little embellishment, either in white or ivory. Now, brides all over are expressing themselves with their shoes.The Weddings Online blog features 18 pairs of shoes that are sure to catch your eye.

Bling: Baubles, stones, and things that are shiny are embellishing shoes of all types. Whether you are wearing a white shoe or one with a pop of color, having some bling adds an extra splash of fun to your wardrobe. You can bling out your heels, your pumps, or even those Converse tennis shoes!

Color: It’s not just white anymore! What’s your favorite color? Looking for a great pop of red? Perhaps you’d like to coordinate your shoes with your wedding colors. Whether it’s bright or pastel, let the color of your shoes show off your personality!

Bows: Along with bling, bows seem to be prominent this season. Bows on toes, on heels, on ankle straps. Try combining bows AND bling for something extra special!

Themes: If you have a particular theme to your wedding, you may want to tailor your shoes to fit. For that country western theme, how about some amazing cowgirl boots? Elegant wedding? A slender heel and well placed accents might serve you well. Whatever it is, make sure your shoes are special and express who YOU are.

Custom: Are you having a hard time finding just the right shoe? While researching, I came across Milk & Honey. Here, you can design your own wedding shoes! You get to choose shoe style, heel style, heel height, materials, color etc. They are spendy, but if you can make the budget fit, well worth it. If you do go this route, make sure to do it early – as a custom item, you’re looking at 6-8 weeks arrival time.

Comfort: Regardless what you choose, don’t forget you have to WEAR them! Make sure they are going to be comfortable and you can WALK in them. You don’t want to end up miserable at your reception because your shoes are killing your feet. You’ll also want to make sure you don’t wait until the last minute to pick your shoes up. When you’re having alterations made to your gown, you’ll want to be wearing the shoes so the hem is measured accurately.

No matter what you choose for your feet, whether it’s a heel, a boot, a wedge, or a tennis shoe, make sure that it shows your personality!
