Happy Monday lovely Brides! As I was brainstorming today’s topic,  I went through a laundry list of things I could write about, but I was really looking for something truly inspirational. I thought back to my wedding, and then it hit me ….. Why did I say “Yes”?

Monday Motivation for Brides: Remembering Why You Said Yes!

It is a gorgeous Monday here in Phoenix, the sun is shining and all is right in the world ….. Unless, you are planning a wedding. There is so much stress surrounding the planning process. Rushing from one appointment to another, trying to coordinate all those little details. Selecting the cake, the invitations, the florist, the  venue – the list seems to go on forever! Some of us deal with it well, thriving on pressure to help us plan smarter, and some of us crack under the pressure. If you’re not careful, it’s easy to lose sight of the reason BEHIND the wedding – the fact that you’re marrying the love of your life!

Make a List

While you have your list of things to do, why not make a list of reasons why you said yes? Is it the way he looks at you like nobody else does? How about that little flutter in your stomach when he comes in the room? Does he make you laugh? Do you find that crooked smile of his endearing? Whatever the reasons, you know what they are, write them down and tuck that list into your purse. When things are starting to get crazy, and you’re about ready to rip your hair out, slow down for a moment. Take a deep breath, sit in the sun, take out that list and remind yourself just WHY you are doing this. If you have to read it twice, that’s okay. It’ll put a smile on your face and a spring in  your step, helping you get through the rest of your tasks without losing your mind.

Call Him

You’re stressed out, your bridesmaids are late for the dress fitting, and you’re losing your cool. Instead of turning into Bridezilla, take out your phone and CALL HIM. Don’t complain about what’s happening. Take a deep breath, close your eyes, and tell him, “I just wanted to say I love you”. You’d be surprised how much those 8 little words can improve your day – and his as well!

Be Kind

When you’re feeling rushed, and emotions are running high, take a minute to slow down and be kind to others. Remember, EVERYONE, from your MOH to your caterer, your photographer to your wedding planner WANT you to have the very best wedding you can have! They WANT you to have your way, really they do. But if your requests are unreasonable, or slightly crazed and insane (and they know it’s not really you – it’s the stress of the moment), take a moment to listen, respond kindly and politely, and you just might find yourself with advocates trying their very best to make your wish come true instead of calling the men in little white coats to take you away. Remember the golden rule, “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you!”

Remember, lovely brides, you are doing this for a reason! Keep your eye on the prize so to speak, becoming the wife of that most wonderful man in the world! See below for some of our favorite Looks of Love.
