Happy Monday, Dear Brides!
I feel so fortunate to be in this business and industry because it really does fit my personality and who I am. I love helping brides and couples to see the most beautiful details about themselves and their amazing wedding day through our creative and romantic photography style and sometimes that gets crushed by the stress and process of wedding planning. I’ve received calls on everything from a distressed bride who cancelled with her venue to a bride that was frustrated and offended by comments from her seamstress said during her fitting. “She snidely asked me if I gained weight since my last fitting and then told me it could happen to anyone! I’ve been working out and I gained muscle—THAT’S all!”, my bride snapped in my ear. I listen patiently, thankful they feel comfortable enough to reach out and vent.. then I cheerfully offer a positive thought of encouragement and help them through the moment. I’m doing what I love, so I’m certainly not complaining.
I recently came across The Bride’s Manifesto and knew that I had to share it with all of you. As Christina Friedrichsen puts it “I hope these words resonate with you. I hope they will serve as a reminder for you to stay grounded and keep your eyes on the prize: marrying the love of your life.” I couldn’t have said it better! Print this out and place it on your desk, bedside and refrigerator to help keep you focused in the event of a meltdown… it’s all good, sister. Have no fear; help is here. 🙂
Until next week, my dear brides!
Kristi 🙂
