For our images, we’re highlighting this incredible vintage styled gown, “Felda” and it’s designed by Enzoani. This beautiful gem of a gown with it’s vintage inspired lace and gorgeous hand-beaded capped sleeves, hugs the curves in all the right places while still having a little bit of a princess feel in the skirt and train. It’s light and airy, perfect for a warm summer or fall wedding day and would also pair well with a vintage winter white fur stole for the cool months. Divine! Just tell me you wouldn’t just love to wear this feminine beauty on wedding day! You may purchase this gown directly from Uptown Bridal & Boutique in Chandler, AZ. Nicole, Tonia and the ladies there are phenomenal at what they do–and they truly love to assist you in finding the perfect gown. 13 Tips to Choose the Perfect Wedding Gown: Part 1 of 3
So he asked the question you’re heart longed for your ears to hear—“Will you marry me?” …and right after you come down from cloud nine and being absolutely lost in love with your beautiful engagement ring you realize the task is ahead to not only plan your wedding, but choose the perfect wedding gown!
Before you jump into the adventure of choosing your perfect wedding gown, here are your must-know tips for finding the dress of your dreams.
1. Be Visual and Start with Pictures
Looking through images of dresses, either online or in magazines, can help you figure out your style. When you go to your dress appointments, bring photos of the dresses you are drawn to. A picture or two can help your consultant visualize what you are looking for.
2. Utilize Pinterest
Okay, so with 70 million users and the fact that 80% of them are women; this tip seems to be a no brainer. With that said, you wouldn’t believe how many brides I come in contact with that still aren’t on Pinterest and haven’t pinned one gown they love! So, ladies! Go ahead and use it! But, don’t forget to incorporate the secret board function on Pinterest to save images and websites of dresses you like for reference later. Check out our Pinterest Boards for wedding dress trends…we love where designers are going even for next summer!
3. Know Your Budget!
Before you go, be sure your budget is set. Diving in without knowing your limits can lead to disappointment. Don’t worry though – whatever your price range, there is a dress you will love that is within it. If you do fall in love with something over your budget, before you say “no way,” check your overall wedding budget. Is there another area where you could pare back a little so that you can spend a little more on your dream gown? Aside from your photographs, when it comes to your wedding your dress is likely to be the one thing you’ll always remember. Don’t settle to save a few bucks.
4. Start Early
Be sure to start shopping early and call ahead to set an appointment. Imagine the job of a dress consultant; it’s not for the faint of heart. Bridal gowns are heavy and it takes a lot of energy to pull them off racks, unpack them their plastic bags and put them back up when you’re done. So do yourself a favor and go early. You’re sure to get the attention and service you deserve, dear bride! Aren’t you worth it? Also, most brides don’t realize it, but selecting and ordering a wedding gown takes time. Special ordering a gown can take up to 8 months, so don’t procrastinate! Also, keep in mind that you’ll need time for alterations which could take up to 2 months. So, get shopping and go early! When the wedding date draws closer and you’re not stressed about your dress being completed on time, you’ll be glad you did.
As you can see, we’re just getting started and have 9 more tips to go! Stop by next Wednesday for Part 2…stay tuned, there’s lots more to come!
Till then!
Kristi xoxo
